Using the familiar mechanism of voting, Accounting for Public Interest works to thoughtfully examine current social, political and economic realities within the city of Portland, OR. Through the playful exploration of civic language, affects, and gestures the game facilitates an exercise in critical thinking and explores an aspirational desire for a homelike municipality.

The first iteration of Accounting for Public Interest was conducted in the Portland Building's installation space and supported by The Regional Arts and Culture Council. The results of the survey were also featured in the Our City in Stereo exhibition at the C3:Initiative. A second version of Accounting for Public Interest was included in the Northwest Art Now exhibition at the Tacoma Art Museum in 2016.
